Independent judgment is exercised in planning and directing the work of subordinate supervisors, Specialists and/or Technicians. Employees also direct the development, verification and implementation of work standards. Employees assigned to the Central Office supervise lower-level supervisors, Specialists and/or Technicians in the administration of statewide roadway management or maintenance-related systems. Employees assigned to an Engineering District have overall responsibility for the maintenance of the highway maintenance system or roadway management system and supervise specialists responsible for the RMS or MORIS materials subsystem. Employees coordinate district or statewide roadway management or maintenance operation techniques and guide the planning, scheduling, budgeting and implementing of work operations in accordance with the roadway management or highway maintenance system. DEFINITION: This is managerial work in roadway programs management.Īn employee in this class is responsible for the review, analysis, and development of maintenance operations in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Maintenance Operation and Resources Information System (MORIS) and the Roadway Management System (RMS).
